Seattle Scuba is the only PADI Instructor Development Center in the Pacific Northwest with
Two Full Time PADI Silver Course Directors on staff.
Where other facilities have contract Course Directors who show up only to teach the Instructor Course, Our Two Course Directors are both full time instructors. They are here 24/7 to answer your questions and assist you in fulfilling your goals. Combined, our Course Directors bring over 56 years of dive training expertise to our Instructor Development Courses.

You are not told about the thousands of dollars in PADI materials and PADI application fees that will be added on later. Standard IDC
Our Standard IDC Program offers everything in the standalone AI and OWSI programs plus, EFR Instructor Course and a number of free workshops to help you fine tune your skills. The EFR Instructor Course is a prerequisite for participation in the PADI IE. If you already have the EFR Instructor rating you will want to join our Basic IDC listed below. We give you a 20% discount off all the standalone course fees when you join our Standard IDC as opposed to doing the three programs individually. Deluxe IDC Our Deluxe IDC Program offers everything in our Standard Program plus the Master Scuba Diver Trainer Prep Course. In the MSDT Course you will gain Instructor Certifications in five of the most in demand Specialty Courses. Emergency Oxygen Provider, Deep Diving, Night Diving, Drysuit Diving, Underwater Navigator. We offer this Deluxe program to you at a 25% discount off the standalone course fees as opposed to doing the programs individually. Basic IDC Our Basic IDC Program offers everything in the Standard IDC with the exception of the EFR Instructor Course. If you already have certification as an EFR Instructor this is the program for you. When you join our Basic IDC we give you a 10% discount off the standalone course fees as opposed to doing the programs individually. You will not find more comprehensive IDC programs anywhere. Upon completion of any of our IDC programs you will be qualified to assume a position as a Professional PADI Instructor anywhere in the world. Unlike most resort facilities, Seattle Scuba is a full service Dive Center. During all of our IDC programs you will learn to use the PADI system of diver education in the classroom, pool and open water as you gain the skills and knowledge to become a PADI Instructor. Along the way you will review your rescue skills and participate in a number of enjoyable workshops focusing on a variety of skills, tips and techniques needed to become a PADI Instructor. All of this training will help to prepare you for your upcoming Instructor Exam and career as a Professional PADI Dive Instructor. What can I do after the IE? Upon successful completion of our IDC and IE you will be authorized to teach these PADI certification courses;

Seattle Scuba Alumni working as independent Instructors will receive 50% discount off any rental gear needed for themselves or their students when renting from Seattle Scuba. If you complete your IDC through Seattle Scuba you will receive a 20% discount off the tuition for the Staff Instructor Course when that time comes. Seattle Scuba Alumni will receive substantial discounts off PADI training materials purchased at Seattle Scuba.
