PRIVATE LESSONS
Private Beginner Open Water Full Certification Course
We offer private classes for individuals or small groups who can't, or don't wish to, join our regularly scheduled group training sessions. We will work with you to find pool and open water training dates that fit your schedule, and there will be an instructor dedicated just to you.
Our PADI Open Water Diver Course is the entry level program through which most people begin the adventure of diving. The course begins with Home Study program. You should plan to spend 15 to 20 hours on the home studies. Upon completion of the home studies you will be ready to participate in the swimming pool practice where you will learn about the skills and equipment necessary for safe, enjoyable diving. The pool facility is located at the Dive Center on Westlake Ave. N., on Lake Union. Swimming ability? You do not need to be a great swimmer but, a minimum swimming ability is necessary for certification in SCUBA diving and will be tested the evening of the pool session. You will be asked to swim 200 yards without stopping, or swimming on your back, and then you must be able to tread water for 10 minutes without stopping or holding onto the side of the pool or another diver. If you do not feel you can accomplish these tasks at this time it is recommended that you practice your swimming before registering for SCUBA lessons. Once the pool training is completed you will progress to two days of diving and academic review. We can schedule these for you on weekends or weekdays, as long as there is daylight out! Upon successful completion of these training dives you will become certified as a a PADI Open Water Diver. Semi-Private Open Water Full Certification CourseUnable to get a weekend free to devote to the class? Just want more personalized attention? In this semi-private program you will join one of our regularly scheduled group pool sessions and then we will schedule the two days of private open water training at your convenience. In this program you will get individualized attention through the critical Open Water dive portion of the course.
This is an extremely popular option for those on a busy schedule or who want more personalize attention, without the cost of a full private course. |
